Today’s Episode:  Planet of the Dead

Writer: Russell T. Davies

So, It’s the first ever Doctor Who Easter Special! Its also the first episode to be filmed in High Definition. It’s also not found on Netflix. Luckily its up on Amazon Prime… which I just happened to have to watch it.

The Doctor just hangs out on a bus that a cat burgler named Lady Christina also gets on while he is investigating a wormhole. Alas they drive right through it. The bus gets totally mangled.

Mind you that the Bus really got mangeled moving it from England to Dubai, as that is where the exterior scenes were filmed once they landed on the strange desert planet. At first the production crew was really upset, then they came to the realization that this could actually happen if something goes through a wormhole, and worked the mangled bus into the script.

Thus they arrive and the Doctor tests out the sand using a highly sophisticated method as you can see..

Then the best part of this episode happens much much later, after thanks to some bug creatures, they manage to get the bus flying back through the worm hole, Carmen gives him this prophesy..

CARMEN: No, but you be careful. Because your song is ending, sir.

DOCTOR:(smile disappears) What do you mean?

CARMEN:It is returning. It is returning through the dark. And then, Doctor… Oh, but then… He will knock four times.

The Doctor then refuses Christina passage on board the Tardis, but allows her to escape using the flying bus. I was confused as to why they didn’t just shoot the bus down like they shot down the alien things as they came through the Wormhole?

So then the Doctor to get away.. says this

arrest myself

Lo, Till we go to Mars tomorrow.. and the Doctor goes bonkers from traveling alone for too long..
