Today’s Episode:  Unicorn and the Wasp

Writer: Gareth Roberts

I did enjoy the writing on this episode, especially how much the Doctor has wanted to meet Agatha, and lo he does!

The other fun thing about this episode is that you can relate each character, other than the Doctor and Donna to CLUE!

  • Clemency Eddison resembles Mrs Peacock
  • Robina Redmond resembles Miss Scarlet
  • Colonel Hugh Curshiby resembles Colonel Mustard
  • Professor Gerald Peach resembles Professor Plum
  • Miss Chandrakala resembles Miss White
  • Reverend Arnold Golightly resembles Reverend Green

Also note that Lady Eddison, is also CASSANDRA!!! Yup bitchy trampoline!! I didn’t realize that until this evening! Awesomesauce!!

There were so many good lines.. but the poisoning was the best part..

DOCTOR: No. Something’s inhibiting my enzymes. ARGH! (in agony) I’ve been poisoned!

DONNA: What do we do? What do we do?!

She crouches beside the Doctor, trying to find a way to help, while Agatha smells his drink.

AGATHA: Bitter almonds! It’s cyanide! Sparkling cyanide!

The Doctor runs out of the room, stumbling. Donna and Agatha follow him.

They burst into the kitchen. The Doctor staggers to Davenport and grabs him.

DOCTOR: Ginger beer!

DAVENPORT: (offended) I beg your pardon?

DOCTOR: I need ginger beer!

He struggles to the kitchen shelf, sweeping off stuff while he searches for ginger beer.

MRS HART: The gentleman’s gone mad!

The Doctor founds the bottle and drinks of it, then pours the rest on his head.

AGATHA: I’m an expert in poisons, Doctor. There’s no cure! It’s fatal!

He spits out the rest of the drink.

DOCTOR: Not for me! I can stimulate the inhibited enzymes into reversal… Protein! I need protein!

He leans on the worktop, panting in agony, while Donna and Agatha search the kitchen supplies.

DONNA: Walnuts?

DOCTOR: Brilliant!

She hands him a jar of walnuts and he gobbles it down. Mouth full, he can only gesture to Donna, shaking his hand up and down.

DONNA: I can’t understand you! How many words?

He shows up one finger.

DONNA: One! One word!

He keeps shaking his hand while Donna is guessing what he means.

DONNA: Shake, milk shake, milk? Milk? No, not milk? Hm, shake shake shake… Cocktail shaker! What do you want, a Harvey Wallbanger?

He finally manages to swallow the walnuts.

DOCTOR: Harvey Wallbanger?!

DONNA: Well, I don’t know!

DOCTOR: How is Harvey Wallbanger one word?!

AGATHA: What do you need, Doctor?!

DOCTOR: Salt, I was miming salt! Salt! I need something salty!

DONNA: What about this?

She shows him a brown bag.

DOCTOR:What is it?

DONNA: Salt!

DOCTOR: That’s too salty!

Oh, that’s too salty!

Agatha hands him a jar.

AGATHA: What about this?!

He opens the jar and gobbles the contents.

DONNA: What’s that?

AGATHA: Anchovies!

The Doctor gestures again.

camptown races

DONNA: What is it? What else? It’s a song? Mammy? Um, I don’t know, Camptown Races?

DOCTOR: Camptown Races?

DONNA: All right then, Towering Inferno!

DOCTOR: It’s a shock! Look! Shock! I need a shock!

DONNA: Right then. Big shock, coming up!

She grabs him and kisses him. She lets him go, and the Doctor breathes out a cloud of grey smoke. Donna, Agatha and the kitchen staff stare at him, shocked.

DOCTOR: Detox! (he wipes his mouth) I must do that more often!

Donna gives him a nasty look.

DOCTOR:I mean, the, the detox.

AGATHA: (in disbelief) Doctor, you are impossible! Who are you?

I love that kiss because its SO OUT OF CHARACTER for Donna… they are blokes, nothing more. That’s why its so shocking for him for her to do that.

Then when they get down to solving the murders.. I was laughing so hard at Donna… as she was doing exactly what everyone at home was doing.. munching on popcorn whilst watching the drama. Good Olde Donna.  I especially loved her earlier reference to season one, when she mentions that Agatha and Murder are similar to Dickens and Christmas ghosts. Shame the Doctor didn’t correct her there.

Till Tomorrow.. we meet a pivotal character in Moffat’s ‘verse!

Happy Birthday to Jenny and ME!

Today’s Episode:  Doctor’s Daughter

Writer: Stephen Greenhorn

Yup.. Its my birthday, and also one of my favorite episodes of Doctor WHO!!!

tumblr_mswrwzWJWE1r8rm05o9_r1_250 The reason being is that Georgia Moffat who plays Jenny, the 10th Doctor’s Daughter is in real life the actual daughter of the 5th Doctor, Peter Davidson! Tenant and Father in Law Now, lets make that connection even more INSANE, shall we? Well soon after this episode, David and Georgia began dating, and lo.. got HITCHED! Yup 10 is married to his Daughter! David and georgia ONE MORE STEP!!! They had a daughter together! Her name is Olive! tumblr_lovcl94NMf1qimo8bo1_r1_500 Now… I love that Donna does a good job at keeping the Doctor calm and level headed in regards to helping him deal with the idea that he has a daughter. doc daughter The best exchange in this entire episode is this one.

The Doctor: Call me old fashioned, but if you really wanted peace couldn’t you just stop fighting?

Lieutenant Cobb: Only when we have the Source. It will give us the power to erase every stinking Hath off the face of this planet.

The Doctor: Hang on, a second ago it was peace in our time and now you’re talking about genocide!

Lieutenant Cobb: For us, that means the same thing!

The Doctor: Then you need to get yourself a better dictionary. When you do, look up genocide. You’ll see a little picture of me there and the caption’ll read ‘over my dead body!’

I also love the fact that it was Moffat (SHAKES FIST!)  whom said.. hey.. KEEP JENNY ALIVE! So, whom knows what he is planning with that.. that man whom keeps everything up his sleeve! He has never said anything about bringing her back yet, we shall never know what exactly happens to her. It would be nice for some conclusion with that character.

Oh well.. tomorrow we meet another great literary character… Agatha Christie!

Gang is back together, well new gang..

Yeah I know more happened in between.. but that’s ok.

We end the episode Donna, Martha and the Doctor are in for a ride.. as the Tardis takes off with all of them in it. Martha is yelling at the Doctor to take her home, but he isn’t in control…

Today’s Episode:  The Sontaran Stratagem

Writer:  Helen Rayner

Ah, the first TWO parter of this season. It ain’t half bad. I love the fact that Donna drives the Tardis, while they get a phone call… and its Martha! Then bam, Martha and Donna become BFF simply because they love helping the Doctor, and both have had that point where they moved on away from him.

I do think it’s great that they included UNIT again, although they changed the name, per demand from the United Nations when the show got re-booted in 2005, that they shouldn’t mention that it’s a part of the UN, now its United Intelligence Taskforce.

Also they brought the Doctor in, since Martha now works for UNIT, so she has access to the Doctor, and they were quite unsure of what to do with the ATMOS systems, so they called in an expert..

Lo, They realized that the cars could be weapons, so the Doctor wanted to meet the guy that invented them. On the way to the car…the best exchange of this entire episode occurred..

Donna: Doctor.

Doctor: Oh Just in time! Come on. Come on. We’re going to the country. Fresh air and geniuses what more could you ask?

Donna: I’m not coming with you, I’ve been thinking. Sorry. I’m going home.

Doctor: Really?

Donna: I’ve got to.

Doctor: Well… if that’s what you want, I mean it’s a bit soon. I had so many places I wanted to take you… The 15th Broken Moon of The Medusa cascade, The Lightning Skies of the Cotter Palluni’s World, Diamond Coral Reefs of Kataa Flo Ko. Thank You. Thank you Donna Noble, YOU’ve saved my life in so many ways. You’re… You’re just popping out for a visit that’s what you mean?

Donna: YOU DUMBO. (she hits the Doctor on the arm)

Doctor: and then you’re coming back?

Donna: Do you know what you are? A Great. BIG Outer-Space DUNCE.

Doctor: Yeah.

Sadly Martha gets hauled off and becomes FAKEMartha whilst this is happening.

Funny thing is that the Doctor, does meet up with Luke Rattigan, and lo discovers the Soltarons (little purple men) and right off insults them and their stragety. Luckily he does manage to escape by doing this..

Da hit

Thus he and his UNIT friend yet again narrowly escapes death by a car that has ATMOS, that the little purple men are trying to control to kill him again. They then meet up with Donna, and once the Doctor realizes that he knows Wilf from the newspaper stand!  YAY FRIENDS!

Sadly at this point we are getting set up for the cliffhanger as the purple dudes have decided to release a ton of poison gas into the atmosphere and Wilf is stuck into a car with the gas!

Till tomorrow.. where the best reference to Season ONE takes place.

The Doctor finally manages to save some OOD!

Today’s Episode:  Planet of the OOD

Writer:  Keith Temple

I’ve never been a big fan of this episode. It does feel a bit filler, but at the same time, we get to know the OOD a bit better than we did back in Season 2 with Rose when they visited the Impossible Planet.  How Donna behaves toward the OOD reminds me of Rose, and Hermione and the Harry Potter ‘verse. Remember the House Elves? Dolby?

The whole thing that made this totally unbelievable was the “hair tonic” turned this guy into OODkind.  Also, the whole “DOCTOR DONNA FRIENDS!” chat that they were saying reminded me a bit of Finding Nemo, “Fish are our Friends, NOT food!” for some reason.

I did love the banter though between Donna and the Doctor.. like this..

It was also nice to see Donna and the Doctor actually stay behind and clean up a bit of the mess and to help the OOD.

No planet mentioned this time though, but Donna did note the bees again to the Doctor.  So here’s a dancing OOD.. till tomorrow.

Today’s Episode:  Fires of Pompeii

Writer:  James Moran

I’ve always thought this to be a very intresting episode, in the simple fact that we see a Soothsayer, whom must be an ancient ancestor of one Ameilia Pond, as well as the 12th Doctor all in one episode. As you can see the chameleon circuit doesn’t work with him, thus is why he bought the Tardis.

The funny thing about this episode is that it takes place in Pompeii, however when the Doctor and Donna first land, he says its Rome. They are actually filming in Rome, and saying its Pompeii.

I’ve always loved the banter between the  Doctor and Donna, when she’s peeved at him..

Or when she’s so happy to be with him!

Water Pistol

Then again he always seems to realize that he needs someone to stop him… and saves the day.

The funny part of this episode also lies with the soothsayers as they tell Doctor and Donna predictions of their futures… Lucius tells the Doctor “She is returning.” He tells Donna, “There is something on your back.” The daughter says the Doctor’s real name is hidden and “burns in Cascade of Medusa herself.” Hmmmm… funny eh?

Also second missing planet mentioned! Our list thus far:

-Adipose Breeding Planet

– Pyroville

Here is my favorite picture of David Tennant… just hanging out on the set… Rome is HOT!

Today’s Episode:  Partners in Crime

Writer:  Russell T. Davies

I love, LoVe, LOVE this episode. Donna’s back in the hot seat! She’s my favorite companion by far. The most independent woman who knows exactly what she wants even though she’s not exactly sure she knows what she is doing.

The best moments take place before Donna and the Doctor meet up.. especially how they just MISS each other so many times like a Dalek shooting at the Doctor.  The best moment of course is this one..

partners in crime desk scene

We also begin learning about the series arc, although it’s not quite apparent, the Matron does mention that the adipose breeding planet has gone missing!

I also ADORE Wilf. RTD did a genius job by bringing back Bernard Cribbins, who played the newspaper guy in Voyage of the Damned. You knew you recognized him from somewhere didn’t you?! Well the man who played Donna’s father in Runaway Bride sadly got cancer and passed on just as they were beginning to film this episode, so RTD just changed it to Donna’s grandpa, and lo… it works! Brilliantly I would say so.

The scene where Donna meets up with the Doctor is just awesome, as Catherine did it with zero prep on the miming. Luckily for my superior lipreading skills, I can easily determine that the Doctor is saying.. “WHAT THE HELL!” here!

Partners in Crime

Also this happened behind the scenes… when he caught the sonic.. too funny!

I’m so happy to see Donna as back up… she’s just my favorite companion. She’s not looking for anything sexual at all, just a mate, which is EXACTLY what the Doctor needs after so much loss. I’m so ready for Season 4…. Bring it ON!
